Family Support Services
Family Support Services Kyabram Community and Learning Centre (KCLC) Family Support Service provides
services to families with children under the age of 18 living in the Kyabram, Stanhope, Tongala, Girgarre and
Rushworth areas.
The service is funded by the Department of Human Services (DHS) and is part of the 'Child First Alliance' for the
Loddon Mallee region. It is free to eligible community members.
The service provides in-home family support as well as group programs such as the 'Tuning Into Kids'
parenting program and the 'Women Moving Forward' program. There is also a parenting support group.
The Family Support Service works with parents, children and young people around issues affecting the
family and can either visit you in your home or see you at the centre.
We offer support to:
• Assist families to find their own solutions to problems
• Help parents to understand and learn more appropriate ways of responding to their children
• Enhance parenting skills and knowledge of specific issues where relevant
• Support and advocate with families/young people with other services such as medical appointments, schools etc.
• Liaise and refer to other services where appropriate and with client’s consent
• Provide a friendly and confidential environment to discuss concerns.
The Family Support team consists of qualified Social Work and Welfare Work professionals with a broad
range of skills and experience that assist them in supporting clients.
