This course is designed to introduce computers, mobile phones,
digital photography and digital story telling.
It will run over 15
weeks and includes the following classes:
Mondays, starts July 19th, 9.30am - 12.30pm
Computer Basics - July 19th and 26th
Students will learn how to turn on and operate a
computer. The different sorts of programs will be explored
and their purpose explained.
Basic Word Processing - August 2nd and 9th
Students will be shown how to use Microsoft word. Basic
commands will be taught and students will learn how to
produce word processed documents.
Basic Spread Sheets - August 16th and 23rd
Students will be taught how to use Microsoft Excel. The
basics of this program will be outlined.
Using the internet - August 30th and September 6th
Students will be introduced to the internet. Search engines
and their functions will be explored and explained.
Mobile Phones - September 13th
Students will be introduced to mobile phones. They will
be taught the basic functions of the phone and specifically
how to send and receive text messages.
Emailing - October 4th and 11th
Students will be shown how to send and receive emails.
The basic email functions will be taught.
Using a digital camera - October 18th
Students will be taught how to use a digital camera. The
basic functions of digital photography will be taught.
Using Picasa - October 25th, November 8th and 15th
Students will be shown how to download and organise
digital photos to the computer and how to perform
basic editing and enhancing functions, using the program
Picasa.
